Escalation is a feature in Hitman which provides additional targets for missions. The name comes from the fact that each escalation mission escalates in difficulty and there are a total of five levels to complete for every escalation mission. After completing the first level, you will be able to move on to the next one, and so on.

For every game mission there is a certain amount of escalation missions belonging to it. After an episodic release, there will be new escalation missions added to the new episode sporadically over time.
